Youth and Community Worker

Hi, everyone calls me Pod .

I was taken on by Christ Church (foolish people!) back in 1998 and my dream ever since has been for amazing things to happen in our local community - I want people to become Christians, to be healed, to become enthusiastic about Jesus and to demonstrate His love to all around.

Everything I do in my role as Youth and Community Worker is aimed at making that dream a reality.  Specifically, I run our Friday night open youth club (Club genesis), go into Margaret Wix school to meet up with a group of children doing "God4Us", organise Alpha, lead the Christ church Youth Group (Refine) and organise all sorts of other things for the local community. I also hold the responsibility for organising our annual Fun Day (a fabulous opportunity to rub shoulders with loads of local people and show them God's love in practical ways).

I suppose I could sum up what I think my job is about by saying that I aim to help build a bridge between the community around us and the church/Jesus. My dream is that more and more people will walk both ways across that bridge.
